Preseason Checklist for Parents - Recreational (Division IV, Division III)

Registering for soccer

  • Check registration dates for the season at T&C website.
  • Register yourself if you will be acting as coach or team manager (see the checklist for coaches in the Coaches Corner).
  • Register each child for the season.
  • All soccer players are required to complete and sign a medical release form. The medical release form is available on T&C Soccer website on the documents page and provided and retained by your coach.
  • For non-US-born players or players with dual-citizenship (US and some other country), there will be some follow-up later regarding one or more International Player Clearance forms which need to be submitted to FIFA through STYSA. This has nothing to do with the US government, but is a requirement by FIFA of all soccer clubs worldwide.
  • Proof of birthdate for each player must be provided. After your child is assigned to a team, if proof of birthdate has not been provided in any previous season, see information at this link.
  • Every player needs their own ball, soccer-cleats or turf shoes or plain athletic shoes, shin guards, team jersey, soccer socks, soccer shorts, and a water bottle. The following types of shoes are not permitted for practices or games: baseball cleats; football shoes or any shoe with a toe cleat; any shoe with metal cleats.
Do we get a uniform?

Recreational player uniforms (FOR THE FALL SEASON) consisting of t-shirt or jersey(s) are included in the total registration fee for each fall season. Individuals are responsible for purchasing soccer shorts and socks. Please check with your coach before purchasing.

Age 4 players receive a colored team t-shirt, no shorts or socks

U5-U10 Recreational players will be provided a team jersey (Xara themed Series), no shorts or socks

U11-U19 DIII Recreational players have a Xara home & away jersey set, no shorts or socks

Recreational player uniforms (FOR THE SPRING SEASON) are NOT included in the registration fee and will be a separate charge. New players (anyone who did not play in the preceding fall season) and players switching teams are required to purchase a uniform during the registration process. There is also a "Uniforms" tab at the left side on the main soccer page with more information.
